Born in Korinthos, Greece in 1990, Giannis Efthimiou studied for three years at the Marble Sculpture School in Tinos Island, where he came into contact with sculpture and painting. In 2011, he was accepted into the Athens School of Fine Arts and graduated in 2017 with excellence for his thesis.

His work moves between painting and sculptural materiality, using coloured paper pulp, landscape, memory, and symbolic figures to create images that feel both personal and mythic.
